Askii Release Note – v1.0.38 – March 18, 2026

Askii just got smoother and more reliable—your assistants now connect to the right tools more intelligently, handle logins better, and produce cleaner, more useful answers with stronger context.

:sparkles: What’s New? (The Highlights)

  • Per-assistant MCP tool preferences: You can now enable or disable MCP tools per assistant, with smart defaults for preselected MCPs. This keeps each assistant focused on the tools it actually needs—less clutter, faster workflows, and fewer “wrong tool” moments.
  • Google Drive URL rewriting: Askii can now convert Google Drive “view” links into direct download URLs for web crawling. This makes it easier to ingest Drive-hosted files without manual link editing, reducing setup friction when you’re building knowledge bases.
  • OAuth auto-refresh & retry: We improved OAuth reliability with cache invalidation, automatic refresh for expired tokens, and automatic tool re-execution after re-authentication. In practice, this means fewer interrupted runs and less time spent reconnecting accounts when tokens expire mid-task.
  • Brief tools summary (two-tier compression): We reduced verbosity in both system prompts and tool result synthesis using two-tier compression. You’ll see clearer outputs that get to the point—without losing the key details you need to act.
  • Improved RAG citation & full context ingestion: We upgraded retrieval quality with small-file full-context loading, proportional hybrid token allocation, and a per-file ingestion mode override. This helps Askii cite more accurately and use your source material more effectively—especially when you mix small docs with larger references.
  • Image generation output behavior (GPT-5-mini): We now only inject the “Enable Image mode” constraint when image generation was not used for the GPT-5-mini model. This keeps responses cleaner and avoids unnecessary instructions when images were already generated as part of the workflow.

:hammer_and_wrench: Fixes & Polish

  • Smoother connection flows: Less manual re-try behavior around OAuth reconnections, so you can stay in the flow.
  • Cleaner assistant outputs: Reduced “extra talk” around tools and results so summaries feel more natural and easier to scan.

:light_bulb: A Tip from Askii

Make one assistant “Drive-ready”: Create a dedicated assistant for document ingestion and enable only the MCP tools it needs. With Drive link rewriting + better ingestion modes, you can keep your setup simple and your knowledge base consistently up to date.
