1. Publisher – Digital Product Provider
Role: Supplies digital products (media, SaaS, games, etc.).
Key Obligations:
- System Integration: Must integrate Moneta’s authentication to allow access for consumers with valid mPass IDs.
- Pay-Later Support: Enables consumers to use EOM “consume-now-pay-later” payment model via the MO.
- Assumes Non-Payment Risk: Accepts financial risk if consumers default on payments.
- Delegated Fee Collection: Authorizes Moneta to collect subscription fees through the MO.
- Complaint Handling: Manages all product-related consumer complaints directly.
- Dispute Resolution Cooperation: Must jointly resolve payment or access issues with Moneta and the MO.
- Interchange Fee Payment: Must pay interchange fees to Moneta per agreed terms.
2. Moneta – Distributor & Technology Provider
Role: Connects Publishers and MOs, provides the digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Builder: Establishes contracts with both Publishers (Service Agreement) and MOs (Cooperation Agreement).
- Platform Developer: Builds and maintains the tech platform enabling mPass ID access, payment, and encrypted data transfer.
- Service Fee Management:
- Collects subscription/service fees via the MO.
- Handles tax declarations, especially for cross-border transactions.
- Disburses net proceeds to Publishers.
- Financial Intermediary: Facilitates payment flow between MOs and Publishers.
3. Membership Organization (MO) – Consumer Interface
Role: Integrates with Moneta’s platform, issues mPass IDs, collects payments, and manages users.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Integration: Must fully integrate with Moneta’s core platform to enable seamless user access and authentication.
- mPass Solution: Develops and maintains their own mPass system using Moneta’s technical support and documentation.
- Consumer Management: Handles user registration, data storage, and security in line with data protection laws.
- User Validation: Validates mPass ID holders through encrypted data passed via Moneta from Publishers.
- Consumer Acquisition: Promotes Publishers’ content and mPass usage to its existing user base.
- Fee Collection & Transfer:
- Collects service fees from users via integrated channels.
- Transfers net amounts (after commissions and VAT) to Moneta.
